Travis Hunter Reportedly Does Not Accept Money From The Colorado Buffaloes’ NIL Collective, Instead He Is Its Largest Donor

Travis Hunter has been quietly paying it forward to his University of Colorado Boulder teammates.

The 2024 Heisman Trophy Award recipient and Colorado Buffaloes football star has been raking in various name, image, and likeness (NIL) deals, most recently signing a multi-year deal with adidas, as AFROTECH™ previously reported.

“Working with adidas is a special opportunity for me and something that I’m really excited about as I look ahead to what’s next,” Hunter said, according to Sports Illustrated. “The partners they currently have are top tier with some of the best young guys like me. I’m pumped to join the three stripes as we continue pushing the boundaries of the sport we all love.”

Aaron Seabron, general manager, U.S. Sports & Creation Center Portland (Oregon) at adidas, commented:

Hunter’s deals also include NerdWallet and Celsius, bringing his NIL valuation to an estimated $5.2 million, notes On3. While this feat is impressive, it is noteworthy that Hunter has decided to use his earnings to better position his teammates.

On the “Zero 2 Sixty” podcast, Deion Sanders Jr., son of Colorado Buffaloes football head coach Deion Sanders and the team’s videographer, revealed that Travis Hunter does not accept money from the school’s NIL collective 5430 ALLIANCE, which supports all sports and student-athletes. Instead, Hunter contributes to it, reportedly funding at least 10 to 15 players.
