When it comes to AFROTECH™, think of its offerings like an Oprah Winfrey giveaway. Everyone gets a session. Although the conference has tech in its title, the annual convening is more than a gathering of tech professionals.
AFROTECH™ Conference is a vibrant, inclusive event crafted for tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all walks of life. On Day 2, Nov. 14, the agenda offers a deep dive into what attendees can expect from this year’s gathering.
Regardless of your field, there’s something here for everyone. Let’s break down what to expect on Thursday.
If you’re just arriving, head to the registration booths to get everything you need for a smooth experience.
The Mall Of Opportunity
The Expo Hall opens today, with resources and engaging experiences for all attendees. This year, the space is designed for you to connect with industry leaders, explore cutting-edge products, participate in hands-on workshops, check out sponsor booths, and stay ahead of industry trends — all under one roof.
Doing It For The Culture
Be sure to check out the Culture Park, where you can step out of a session and into a scene of live music, a bustling Black business market, and fantastic food. This space brings good vibes and an authentic cultural experience, and it is available daily.
Creative And Design Summit
Today also kicks off the Creative and Design Summit, packed with sessions on leveraging technology, remaining authentic, and securing opportunity. For example, Shannae Ingleton Smith, founder, president, and CEO of Kensington Grey Agency, joins Imani Ellis, founder of the Creative Collective NYC, in a session titled, “The Business of Creativity.” They’ll discuss valuing creativity, building community, and negotiating fair compensation while breaking down barriers to equitable pay.
Networking is also on the agenda, with events like the Queer Meet-Up, presented by Airbnb, creating a welcoming space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in tech to connect, share, and support each other.
With a full day of learning, connecting, and celebrating, there’s a lot to look forward to. Download the AFROTECH™ Connect app to keep up with everything happening.
