As you probably know, the new iPhone 14 lineup was announced last week and with it, the new Apple operating system–iOS 16.
This is a massive update and there are hundreds of new features but there are some features that, if used properly, can boost your productivity.
Here are 5 new iOS 16 features you can use to give yourself a boost.
1. Battery Life
Now, on iOS 16, Apple finally allows me to flip the switch on battery percentage. In other words, you can now see how much battery you have left.
This used to be available on iPhone and was removed. Now it’s back and it’s super useful and hard to believe it took this long.
So as you go about your day, you can now pay closer attention to how much battery you have left and then you can adjust your workflow accordingly.
2. Photo Sorcery
One of the absolute coolest new features in iOS 16 is the ability to long press on an object in a picture and instantly remove the background. You can then drag the object you selected right into another app.
So for example, if you want to send a picture of a new product you’re developing but the background is your messy desk and sending it that way would be super unprofessional, all you have to do is select the product and drag it right out of that picture, thereby eliminating the clutter of your desk as the background.
3. Email Scheduling
I woke up this morning at 6:30 am to a pitch from a startup. To me, that is annoying and even slightly disrespectful. Always know your audience and make sure to send emails at relevant times when the recipient is available and more likely to answer.
Now you can schedule an email from within the default iOS mail app. It is important to mention that this feature has been available for years in other iOS mail apps but never in the default Apple one, till now.
This is an incredibly useful feature to enhance your business communication.
4. Email Reply Reminders
Confession time: I only discovered this feature about five minutes ago when doing research for this article. I kept seeing old emails reappear in my inbox and I didn’t understand why.
iOS 16 will resurface an email that didn’t get a reply and put it right back in your inbox so you can follow up. How awesome is that?
5. Message Editing
I don’t think I even need to tell you why this is so important but nothing can break a deal more effectively than sending a message to a potential business colleague that was intended for your wife.
So you can now edit and even delete a message you’ve already sent. This too should be filed under the category of “Better late than never!”
iOS 16 has tens of other features that can help your productivity. Things like the ability to use your iPhone as a webcam, live text in videos so you can easily copy and paste text from a picture, a much-enhanced dictation engine, the ability to easily remove duplicate photos or contacts, and so much more.
As I said, iOS 16 is a major update that turns your phone into more of a work device than its ever been before.
